2025 has been an incredible year of growth for OpenAP–we’ve welcomed three new faces to our Commercial team who are helping us push forward our mission to bring simplicity and scale to audience-based advertising across the video landscape. Get to know Kate, Kris and Michelle below and hear how they are already making an impact to deliver more value to our agency and advertiser partners.
Why did you decide to join OpenAP?
KH: I’ve always been drawn to teams that are shaping the future while staying deeply human- and OpenAP felt exactly like that. I’d been watching from afar as they transformed how advertisers connect with audiences, and I thought, “I want to be part of that story.” When the opportunity came to join as part of Client Success, it felt like the perfect fit: helping clients navigate complex challenges, seeing them succeed, and being part of a team that actually makes advanced advertising feel approachable and meaningful.
What fires you up about your role?
KH: I love solving problems, translating complex ideas into clear action, and partnering with clients to help them reach their goals. In Client Success, every day is a mix of creativity, strategy, and collaboration.
What's one industry trend that you're keeping an eye on or excited by over the next year?
KH: I’m really inspired by the push toward audience-first strategies and seamless cross-platform measurement. As clients navigate an ever-fragmented media landscape, there’s so much potential to make campaigns smarter, more connected, and more meaningful. Watching how data-driven insights can unlock those “aha” moments for clients feels like seeing a story unfold in real time and I can’t wait to help tell it alongside them.
Why did you decide to join OpenAP?
KB: Roughly 7 years ago I met with OpenAP when it was a consortium with ideas and goals that aligned with exactly what I felt the marketplace needed – standardization. Data-drive linear was starting to break through as a concept but this area was truly the wild wild west. OpenAP was able to deliver on the idea of consistency of segments with measurement/attribution. As I’ve watched OpenAP grow over the years the idea of solving for industry and client’s needs always seemed to come through as the vision. In our ever-changing landscape this is a crucial part of the puzzle and makes me excited to be a part of the company. With my purposeful diverse background, I felt I could have an impact within OpenAP and with our clients. Oh, and the people are great!
What fires you up about your role?
KB: Data-driven everything is at a tipping point. Clients/agencies are tasked with multiple contradicting KPIs, and the data world is loud, complex and expensive. The need for streamlined simplification is something the industry has notoriously failed at, creating more fragmentation. OpenAP is the voice that the clients/agencies want and need—simplification in cross-screen data-driven planning and activations. Interoperable holistic transparency is key. Working directly with our agencies/clients as a strategic partner while educated and pushing the boundaries of what is possible to help our partners achieve success. There is still a lot of white space and I’m excited to make it colorful with DDV.
What's one industry trend that you're keeping an eye on or excited by over the next year?
KB: I see a resurgence in the Audio space coming. Audio has transformed in the last few years with partners like Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM with podcasts. Podcasts enable brands to speak authentically with their consumers, not at them. This is a level of advertising that is under allocated within the market. I’m seeing brands leaning into storytelling to reach their consumers more than ever. I see Audio making a larger statement in the marketplace.
Why did you decide to join OpenAP?
MV: I joined OpenAP because I was excited to be part of a company that’s leading the charge in bringing simplicity, innovation, and collaboration to advanced advertising. Having worked across different sides of media sales and strategy, I saw how important it is to have a unified solution that drives consistency and transparency for brands and agencies and OpenAP really stood out as the team making that vision a reality.
What fires you up about your role?
MV: I love being able to partner closely with clients and help bring their campaigns to life from onboarding to activation to measurement. Every day I get to collaborate with smart, passionate teammates across different functions, and together we’re building solutions that make a real impact for advertisers. Seeing the results of that work and knowing I had a hand in it is incredibly rewarding.
What's one industry trend that you're keeping an eye on or excited by over the next year?
MV: I’m excited by the continued evolution of cross-platform measurement and how data is helping us tell a more complete story across linear and streaming. Advertisers are looking for precision, consistency, and accountability, and I think the progress we’re seeing in this space will reshape the way campaigns are planned and evaluated moving forward.
